Circle of Understanding

Join our Circle of Understanding the first Wednesday of each month beginning February 1 where people of different faiths, races, cultures, sexual orientation, backgrounds, and ways of life will share their stories to come to a greater understanding of one another as a fundamental step to harmony in the midst of diversity.

A simple soup supper will be served at 6 p.m., with the Circle following at 6:30p.m., at Precious Blood Renewal Center, 2130 St. Gaspar Way, Liberty.

Spiritual Retreat for U.S. Veterans

5 p.m., June 30 -2 p.m., July 2, White House Jesuit Retreat, 7400 Christopher Drive, St. Louis, Mo.

Open to men and women of any denomination who have served in the United States Armed Forces.White House Retreat operates on a free-will offering basis, asking attendees to simply give what they feel they can at the retreat’s conclusion. A $50 deposit is required to register for the retreat.

The retreat is a series of talks presented followed by breakout sessions. attendees receive private accommodations, all meals provided. The retreat is designed to help veterans focus on their military experience and how God was, and continues to be, with them. Participants must be able to enter into quiet reflection and listen to the experiences of others. It digs into trauma created by PTSD and the guilt and shame that can accompany military experience.
