Cemetery Sunday set for Nov. 4

The staff of the Catholic Cemeteries of Kansas City – St. Joseph invites you to a Day of Faith, Remembrance, Prayer and Visitation at your Catholic Cemeteries – 2 p.m., Nov. 4.

On Cemetery Sunday, and in celebrating All Souls Day, we invite you to pray with us in the words of The Servant of God, Pope John Paul II “…it is the pious tradition during these days for the faithful to go visit the graves of their dear ones and to pray for them…”. Please gather with us as a community of faith for a Prayer Service where your beloved deceased family and friends will be remembered. If you need assistance, diocesan Catholic Cemetery staff will be privileged to help you find an exact burial location or answer your cemetery questions or concerns.

Cemetery Sunday Prayer Services will be held:

♦ Resurrection Cemetery, 5001 NE Cookingham Drive, Kansas City; celebrated by Father Justin Hoye.

♦ St. Mary’s Cemetery, 2201 Cleveland, Kansas City; celebrated by Father Thomas Tank.

♦ Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 7601 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City; celebrated by Father Steven Rogers.

Although Calvary Cemetery, 6901 Troost, Kansas City, is not part of the Diocesan Catholic Cemeteries, a 2 p.m., prayer service will be celebrated there by Father Robert Stewart.
