Annual Hedgerow Mass

September 10, 2017

Annual Hedgerow Mass, 11 a.m., Sept. 10, on the grounds of the Knights of Columbus #5067 hall, 1205 North 49 Terrace, St. Joseph.

The public is invited, bring lawn chairs or blankets and join us as we remember a time in Irish history when Catholicism was repressed by the English who sought to rule the island, and the faithful were forced to hold Mass behind hedgerows and in other secluded places.

Reverend Jack Fitzpatrick will be ourcelebrant, and the Mass intention will be for the souls of our departed Hibernian brothers.

The service will be followed by a meal of Reuben sandwiches or corned beef and cabbage (your choice), at a cost of $7/person.

In case of inclement weather, Mass will be held inside the hall.

Sponsored by the St. Joseph, Mo., Ancient Order of Hibernians. Proceeds go to the Hibernians’ charitable endeavors.
