Scholars discuss Mary in Catholicism and Islam

October 9, 2019

Mary, the Mother of Jesus, has long been revered in both Catholicism and in Islam.  In fact, the Quran has an entire chapter named after her. It is because of this shared devotion to Mary that Cardinal Blase Cupich of Chicago has called Mary “an inter-religious bridge” for Christians and Muslims.

The Precious Blood Renewal Center and The Dialogue Institute of Kansas City are honoring Mary, the Mother of Jesus, with the program “Mother Mary in Catholicism and Islam,” 6 – 8:30 p.m., Oct. 9, Precious Blood Renewal Center, 2120 Gaspar Way, Liberty.

The evening will include presentations by Muslim and Catholic scholars and dinner.
